πŸ•’ Registrations on 20 December 2025 at 11:59 pm

We encourage families to complete registration and plan travel accordingly.

πŸ“ Finale Venue, Dates & Timings β€” Confirmed

To avoid any confusion, please note clearly:

  • Venue: MCC, Chennai
  • Dates: 27 & 28 December 2025
  • Timings: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (both days)

Please plan to attend both full days.

❗ Important Note on Attendance & Certificates

Based on experiences at the Regional rounds, where some participants left during the valedictory even while the Chief Guest was speaking, we are making one apparent change:

➑️ Participant certificates will be distributed only towards the end of the event.

This ensures respect for the collective journey, mentors, guests, and the children themselves. We request parents to plan travel accordingly.

❌ No Hybrid / Online Mode for the Finale

We would like to reiterate respectfully:

  • The Grand Finale will be entirely physical
  • No hybrid or online option is possible

The finale is designed around shared physical experiences β€” walking, observing, discussing, writing together, and learning from one another in open spaces. This cannot be replicated meaningfully online.

For children in regions where physical workshops are not possible, online formats are used thoughtfully. However, where a physical finale exists, that is the experience we stand by.

🌱 β€œIs this a competition? Will there be winners?”

One word: Relax.

The Katha Utsav Finale has never been a competition.

  • There are no first prizes, second prizes, winners, or losers
  • Children are not ranked
  • There is no pressure to perform

Instead, the finale is:

  • Two days of exploration
  • Writing in parks, under trees, in open spaces
  • Conversations with mentors and peers
  • Discovering voice, confidence, empathy, and purpose

Children leave with clarity, courage, friendships, and growth.

We kindly request parents not to add pressure. Let children arrive with an open mind and a whole heart.

πŸ™ A Note of Thanks

We acknowledge that organising an event of this scale β€” across 20 states and thousands of children β€” may not align perfectly with everyone's schedule. We truly appreciate your patience, feedback, and cooperation.

The Katha Utsav journey is built on trust, transparency, and a shared belief in stories as tools for change.

We look forward to welcoming you to Chennai for what promises to be a profoundly meaningful finale.

Warm regards,
Program Head
